Our Story
At Electric Coolade Media, we are an independent and trusted music curation service dedicated to preserving the shared experience of discovering and reliving the magic of great music. In the age of algorithms, AI, and machine learning, we ensure that exceptional music stands out and never gets lost in the shuffle.
From meeting each other in a Leading with Influence and Integrity course in January of 2020, chatting it up after class their shared taste in music quickly became a talking point. Colin’s generosity and willingness to give Edwin rides to the train station evolved into car listening sessions for new artists and some of their favorite songs of all time.
How it all began
Their friendship was established over this period of time and became rooted in their love for excellent production and dope music. As time went on they began texting each other songs often without any other words or phrases included, as a result of this, they began to instinctively pick up on each other’s daily moods and music styles. Before long, they had developed a bond and trust in each other’s curated music recommendations.
Inspiration
In May of 2023, the idea came up to perhaps start their own venture centered around music curation, and bringing their love of dope music to other like-minded people who struggle to find “new” artists and songs. Colin instinctively suggested the name Electric Coolade, and Edwin after briefly thinking about the name instantly knew it would work.
Fresh ideas
The name Coolade being an easy way to bring back nostalgic memories related to hip-hop and 90s culture, which produced some of the best songs that have inspired a new generation of dope music. And Electric being the visceral emotion or feeling one often gets, when hearing a song they love for the first time or recalling the memory of hearing that same song for the first time. It’s an immediate reaction to the sounds, details, and thoughts one has when they have the initial audio experience.

Currently, these two friends, now business partners, are focused on bringing the best elements of their music curation skills through collaborating on playlists, creative content, and dynamic community building.
